OUR COACHES

Nick Davila

Coach Nick is a Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Professor Jeff Macatangay, owner and head professor of Isla Jiu Jitsu. He fell in love with Jiu Jitsu after experiencing its effectiveness while training for Army Combatives.

Outside of the gym, Coach Nick is a full-time teacher in Maricopa Unified School District. At Los Gallos Grappling Club, he is able to combine his passions for teaching and jiu jitsu by helping students develop both their skills and confidence on the mats.

Coach Nick is an active competitor on the local grappling scene and is always striving to deepen his understanding of the techniques that are most effective in live competition.

Ryan Dierck

Coach Ryan is an Original Gallo. He has been training with Los Gallos Grappling Club since it began in Coach Nick’s living room, four years ago.

Coach Ryan is currently a blue belt and coaches our Kids and Teens afternoon class.

Coach Ryan has developed an impressive technical understanding of no-gi jiu jitsu. He is a dedicated student of the game, constantly studying, learning, and refining his skills. His passion for learning and attention to detail make him an outstanding coach and a valuable resource for everyone on the team.
